Vancouver’s Magical Cat Cafe and Rescue Community

Welcome to Catoro Cafe, a forest-themed cat cafe in East Vancouver where rescue, community and a little everyday magic come together.

Located at 666 East Broadway, Catoro offers visitors the chance to enjoy handcrafted bubble tea, explore unique gifts and pet supplies, and spend time with adoptable rescue cats inside our Cat Forest.

But Catoro is much more than a cat cafe. At its heart, it is a place devoted to helping cats find safe, loving homes.

Our Story

Catoro Cafe first opened its doors in Vancouver in 2019 with a mission to help address feline overpopulation and make cat adoption more accessible.

Traditional shelters can be stressful environments for cats, especially those who are shy, overlooked or still learning to trust people. Catoro was created to offer something different: a comfortable, engaging space where rescue cats could relax, socialize and meet potential adopters outside of a conventional shelter setting.

Catoro owners Annah van Eeghen and Daniel Wilson

In 2023, longtime animal advocates Annah van Eeghen and Daniel Wilson became Catoro’s owners. Supported by an extraordinary community that believed Catoro was worth saving, Annah and Daniel committed themselves to protecting its mission and building a more compassionate future for cats in need.

Since opening, Catoro has helped more than 1,800 rescue cats find loving homes.

Meet the Cats of the Cat Forest

The cats at Catoro come to us through rescue partners and local surrender situations. Every cat is available for adoption, and no cat lives permanently at the cafe.

Inside the Cat Forest, visitors can meet cats in a calm, enriching environment that allows their personalities to shine. Some are playful and confident. Others are shy, sensitive or recovering from difficult experiences. Each one is given the time, care and support they need while waiting for the right home.

A visit to Catoro does more than provide a memorable experience. It helps socialize rescue cats, introduces them to potential adopters and supports the ongoing cost of caring for cats in need.

Alongside the Cat Forest, Catoro serves a creative menu of bubble tea and specialty drinks, including our signature Foggy Cat made with Earl Grey tea and vanilla.

Our retail shop features thoughtfully selected cat supplies, toys, treats and whimsical merchandise for cat lovers. We also host community events such as movie nights, craft gatherings, art nights and other cozy experiences designed to bring people together.
